YUSHIRUSHI / HOT SPRING CHECK-INS & NOTES

Keep every soak,
close at hand.

A quiet, private journal for hot springs you discover and the water information displayed at each venue.

HOW TO USE

Four ways to remember the water.

01

Save and organize venues

Add a country, region, and hot spring area, sort places into Favorites or Want to Go, and choose a licensed reference photo from Wikimedia Commons.

02

Log each visit

Record the date, bath type, rating, temperature impression, tags, notes, and personal photos, then compare and edit them later.

03

Keep water details with a source

Copy spring type, temperature, pH, content, treatment, and a reference URL from venue information.

04

Review and take it with you

Create a postcard from your own photo, review visit trends, export a .yushirushi backup with photos, or open visit history as CSV.

FAQ

A few helpful
answers

How storage, portability, and deletion work.

01

Where are my records stored?

Venues, visits, water profiles, photos, and insights are stored on this device. Personal photos are not sent to a developer server, and embedded location metadata is removed when they are saved.

02

How are backups and CSV files handled?

Only when you ask, iOS exports a .yushirushi backup containing records and photos, or a CSV. Import reads only a .yushirushi or legacy JSON file you explicitly select.

03

What is sent during a reference-photo search?

Only after you choose Find a Reference Photo, the venue name, region, and candidate-image requests are sent to Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia may process or retain access logs under its own policies. Personal photos, visit notes, and water profiles are not sent.

04

When does the App use Camera and Photos?

Only after you choose to take or select a photo for a visit. Take photos only where photography is permitted and avoid including other people.

05

Does the app verify hot spring information?

No. Water profiles are notes copied by the user from venue notices or official material. The app does not verify them or judge water quality, safety, or benefits.

06

Can I delete a venue or visit?

Yes. Deleting a venue also deletes its linked visits, water profiles, and photos. Export a .yushirushi backup first if you may need them later.

07

What happens if an older journal cannot be read?

Yushirushi preserves the original file on the device instead of overwriting it. Follow the in-app recovery message or contact support.

PRIVACY

Your journal stays on your device.

No account or tracking. Personal photos stay on device, and reference-photo search connects to Wikimedia Commons only after you choose it.
