PRIVACY POLICY

Yushirushi (the “App”) is an on-device journal for hot spring check-ins and water-profile notes. This policy explains how the App handles data.
The App does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, health data, advertising identifiers, or usage data for the developer. No account is required. Photos the user selects or takes are stored on device after location and other embedded metadata are removed.
Venues, visits, water profiles, notes, personal photos, reference photos and their source and license details, Favorites, Want to Go status, and insights are stored on the user’s device. The App does not send or sync them to a developer server.
Only after the user chooses Find a Reference Photo, the App sends the venue name and region directly to Wikimedia Commons and loads candidate image URLs. Search terms and viewed candidates are used only for App Functionality, not advertising tracking. Wikimedia may process or retain IP addresses, search terms, image requests, and related logs under its own policies; the developer cannot manage or erase those logs. Personal photos, visit notes, and water profiles are not sent.

Only when the user asks, the App exports a .yushirushi backup containing records and photos, or a CSV, through iOS sharing and file features. Import processes only a .yushirushi or legacy JSON file explicitly selected by the user, on device. Files are not uploaded to the developer.
The App does not use advertising tracking, behavioral analytics, third-party data-transmission SDKs, or sell or provide personal data to third parties. Reference-photo searches connect directly to Wikimedia Commons only after the user asks.
Venues, visits, water profiles, reference photos, and personal photos can be deleted in the App. Deleting a venue also deletes its linked records and photos. The App cannot erase Wikimedia access logs. Data after deleting the App follows the device’s backup settings.
This policy may be updated as features or laws change. Important changes will be announced on this page or in the App Store version description.
